Reincarnation is the belief that is held by some people and some culture that when one dies, their body decomposes but there is something in their body that doesn't decompose and is reborn in another body. Some cultures believe that when a person is good in his lifetime by taking care of his family, providing for the sick and the poor, their kind of spirits are reborn in another person when they die. Other cultures also believe that people who are very wicked and unkind in their lifetime are also reborn in another. Basically, one has to be on the extreme sides to be reborn. There are many different ideas about reincarnation. Some cultures believe that their grand parents or great grand parents reincarnate in their children. These ideas are very interesting. People some times believe in these to get some emotional closure to whomever they have lost in their lives. For example a family loses their grandmother before the woman of the house who is pregnant could give birth. Initially they dont know the sex of the child and after a few months the child is finally born, their baby is a female, the family would decide to name the child after their grandmother who passed away believing that she reincarnated through the child. That doesnt make sense to me!
Why would a grand mother or anyone want to come back to this world and how does one even have the powers to do that? Does it mean that most of the people walking around the world aren't unique as we thought they were, instead they are just reincarnations of someone else from the 80s or 70s? Could this be an explanation to why history always repeats itself because people are just being reincarnated and they come back with the same old thoughts?
For some this is the closest they can make out of life or deal with death. It is not rational but to them who believe in it, it does not need to be rational, it just needs to fill the void in their heart when they lose someone. Just like some people believe that their dead (loved, not the annoying grandmother) ones are watching over them..mmhmm
Then we have the groups that believe in Life after death. Overall, they are never specific in what type of life it is after death. Its more of a happy life after death.
Who says am not happy in this life? How would the life after death be better than this one am living right now? Does it mean no work?
Some believe it is a spiritual world after death, that is living a spiritual life.
This is an interesting clip about what people believe in on life after death and how it varies but still have something in common that whatever we face after death. It is that we will have something better than what we have right now but then again i always ask, why are people so scared to die and why do people try to change their life style so that they can live longer in this world when there is an even better place after this one to get to??
Always think!

Now: how would we figure out what leads one to believe in (or not believe in) reincarnation? And what's 'in it for us' to like or not like the believers?
